i just got a new laptop, and the screen res was fine @ 1280 by whaterv it was. i had trouble starting css, so i thought my drivers were bad, so i downloaded one from nvidia, which said it was not compatible with my hardware, so i installed a omega driver on the advice of a friend, after the installation of this, i restarted the pc so find the res in 1024 by whatever, i went to desktop properties and it would not let me change it above 1024 (the little bar you slide the thing along only went up to 1024, it orignally went up to 1280) i am oretty sure this is something to so with the drivers, any help on how to fox this wouldbe apreciated, will a reformat work? i aint to bothered, as i have only got a few games etc. on it atm , and have nothing really important

Didn't you get a disk with video drivers on it when you bought the pc? Don't know what css is but I would have thought getting the display right as it was out of the box would be the first priority. I would reinstall the original drivers and go from there with the css problem. If you can reinstall the drivers it would be far easier than a reformat/reinstall. 2 mins v 2 hours (15 hours for my pc). A reformat sounds completely unnecessary to me.

If you really want to do something drastic, it would be easier to use System Restore from a point before you starting messing things up. I would still try reinstalling the original video drivers first.
