"help" xp boot loop

yesterday i reinsalled my xp on to my pc using the repair funtion on the disk. after it had finished the computer boots up to where xp actualy loads and the screen will go blank then it restarts the pc. i have tried booting up in safe mode but the same happens. the error is stop oxoooooo7b. i dont know what to do.

Do you have another computer you could put the harddrive in as slave to scan?

ive scaned it on another pc with trend,spyware docter,microsoft antispyware and ad-aware.

you'll want to run a chkdsk

I suggest you download powermax from Maxtor. Execute it, it makes a boot floppy. Boot the the floppy, it will give you the option to do a diagnostic scan of your HD. (Note: just be sure you read carefully with powermax, there's also funtionality to wipe the drive, so carefull to only run a diagnostic scan..)

Edit: or if not, you could use the Windows one, (not as good).

do i go to the recovery console and type chkdsk \r if so then what

for the windows one, just open a CMD prompt and type chkdsk /f then reboot.

ive chose to start my computer from scrash ill put files i need on to my there hard drive
