hi reader im in the british army based in germany, and in my i have a ethernet socket in the wall. in order to get internet i have too plug a ethernet cable in the wall and then into my laptop, does anyone no how i can configure my netgear wireless router from this ethernet socket thanks...... tom

Contact the admin of the network on your base and they could tell you a lot easier then we could. He knows how the network is setup, we don't.

If you're just wanting to use the router to connect multiple devices to the internet, and it doesn't work just by connecting it, going into the router settings and disabling NAT and DHCP might do the trick.

I would seriously ask the network guy on base, I would feel uneasy about installing my own wireless AP on an army LAN for fear for security issues and getting punished for it. They probably don't want you to do that, I know if someone put a wireless AP on my network without me knowing about it there will be hell to pay... hell i tell you.
