I just finished my first build, Can i take my SATA Hard drive out of my old computer and run it as the main drive in the new one?

you can but you won't be able to use the os out of it, it is liscenced to the motherboard of the other computer.

unless u have a hdd migration software such as what is included in some paragon software. Then u could use it with out re-installing windows.

Windows doesn't allow itself to be just chucked in another computer any more (I remember I could do this with win98 though), so even disc imaging/HD migration and any such software won't help.

But yes, it is possible to take out the HD and use it as your new main drive - though that means you'll end up having to re-install Windows.

yeah, you'll have to get a new copy of windows for 100 unless it's on sale, the old os on the other hdd is liscenced to the motherboard and that can't just be transfered with a normal installation or anything.
