Help!

My computer freezes up sometimes and other times I can work for hours and it acts just fine. I have used the search and tried a couple of things from what I have found but nothing works. I have used malware-bytes and it seemed to help for the rest of that session and then later when I turn the computer back on it is slow then sometimes it will freeze. My system is a

Toshiba Satelite l455
Intel Celeron 2.2 GHz
3 GB Ram
Windows 7

Thanks for any help that anyone can give. Hopefully I don't have to take it in to get it fixed but my knowledge is pretty limited!
 
I have checked the bottom when I freezes and it was not real hot, warm but not to bad. As far as the fan I can feel it running occasionally but not sure if it has been running when it froze.
