I'm hoping I can get some help here.

I recently bought a T30 thinkpad off ebay. Cavet empor! Was sold to me 'as is' in working condition.

Well it's in working condition, but I can't access anything as it's locked in a network login.

It'll start up, go through post, right into the windows login screen - where it asks me to hit ctrl alt del and then enter my user name and password and domain name.

I've tried going into bios to set the computer to start off the dvd rom drive and put my xp disk in to try to do a clean install, but it continually goes into the login screen.

Please help. The guy who sold this laptop to me is no help at all, and I need to get access to this laptop.

Thanks!

he just got it, and he wants 2 use it, but he cant because he dont know the user name and the password, correct?

i think theres a way 2 get around it, like Administrator, or something.

I think he wants to format the system and put WinXP on it. Insert the WinXP Disc into the CD-ROM or DVD-ROM drive, and restart the system. When the "Press any key to boot from the CD-ROM drive" prompt is displayed or "Boot from CD...", press a key to start your computer with the WinXP CD. If the system does not boot to the CD, then ensure the CD-ROM or DVD-ROM drive is set as the first bootable device in the BIOS settings. That's it- it should work on the T30 series. Unless you've got a splash page covering up the start up sequence where "Press any key to boot from the CD-ROM drive" is shown.
