i don't know anything about computer stuff and i want to get a lpatop. what do you think of the hp nx6310 core duo???

i want something new and reliable that wont let me down. so please let me know and suggest some alternatives. thanx

what do you want it for? anything particular? the one i found on froogle had 512 ram and a 40gb hdd but if you can upgrade to an 80gb hdd and 1gb of ram then that would be a lot better.

i need it for university work. so basically to enable me to make my work more 'portable' between home and uni. i was going to get one of the sony laptops but then this came up. it has 512mb and 80GB and DVDRW XP pro whatever all of this means. sorry i really don't know much about computer things. i just want to know if hp is a reliable brand or if its better to get another laptop from dell or sony.
