help!!!!!! :(

hi, i really need help because im not sure whats wrong. my pc is a newly built one and has been working fine up until now. i opened up the case to connect up a fan that hadnt been connected. i dint touch anything but when i turned it back on windows wont load. i keep seeing searching IDE or something like that with a spinning / beside it.......... now just as i have been typing this i tried turning it on and it came on and loaded. that is odd. any ideas what may have caused this?

It could be a few things. When you plugged the fan in you may of pulled one of the harddrive leads slightly out causing intermittent problems. I maybe wrong lol...But it's worth opening your computer and just checking all the leads are pushed in properly.

that must be what it was. i know i didnt do anything else. i gave the cables a quick check first and it didnt work, thats why i posted. didint know what else it could have been. i gave them a second check and made sure to give them a good push. that seemed to do it. it booted up then after that.
