Help !!!

I have a notebook Toshiba p25 s 609 last week i took my dvd multidrive out of the system and dropped it...Since then it stopped working and always whos me an i/o error...Do you think that i need to buy a new computer or i just need to reinstall something becouse it might have uninstalled or burned something inside my motherboard when i dropped it and put it back?

Hit the windows key and the pause-break key to open the system properties box. Select Hardware--Device manager and look under the section for DVD drives and see if the item is installed correctly. You may need to reinstall it; or it may tell you that the item is not functioning. The cables are back in place and tight...right?

if none of this works I would take it in and have someone look at it before you buy a new one. Dropping the multi drive might have jacked it all up.
