Well today i faced the challenege of building a computer and swapping some parts between two. at one time i had windows and linux on one harddrive and got rid of it all with the windows boot cd to install it. well i had two hard drives now one with linux one with windows. i took the linux out(master) and put it in another computer to reformat it to windows and was reformatting the other hard drive so the MBR went on that one. Well i got it booting and set it to master. I reformatted and when it went to restart it said Error Loading Operating System. So i followed some forums and learned some stuff. i then did somethign when i was messing with it i partitioned it into 2 one that is liek 10gb for windows only and 70gb for other things. so then i rebooted and got it to say missing operating system. Need some help any suggestions will be tried. the new computer i built at 4pm i havent even turned on and its 10:30PM i really wanna fix the otehr first so please help!

When you partitioned the drive, you probably reformatted the hdd. I would recommend sticking one drive in the PC, and then format it to your liking, install the OS, then you can connect your slave drive. You don't need to switch computers to format a hdd either. If the drive isn't formatted when you go to install windows, it will format it if you choose to let it. I think this somewhat answers what you were talking about, it is a little hard to follow.

i need to make it work on only one hard drive cause i need the otherone for myself. so if there is a program i can use to make it like its brand new? i have another working computer so if i need to format it with another program i can plug it in. any help will be appreciated with a program that can wipe the thng clean.oh and i made it master primary. still same error though.
