New Member
well ive decided to start learning a bit more about hjt and i looked over some stuff, anyway, earlier, while i was on the internet, i got a few of those "your computer is infected" things, that O24 refuses to go away, i have deleted it multiple times though i ran avg and superantispyware earlier and they only found a few cookies any help?

Quite possibly the remnants of a Smitfraud infection. Have you used HijackThis to remove any other entries? Let's just make sure that there's nothing else hiding before we remove the O24:

Please download SmitfraudFix (by S!Ri)
Extract the content (a folder named SmitfraudFix) to your Desktop.

Open the SmitfraudFix folder and double-click smitfraudfix.cmd
Select option #1 - Search by typing 1 and press Enter; a text file will appear, which lists infected files (if present).
Please copy/paste the content of that report into your next reply.

Note : process.exe is detected by some antivirus programs (AntiVir, Dr.Web, Kaspersky) as a RiskTool; it is not a virus, but a program used to stop system processes. Antivirus programs cannot distinguish between good and malicious use of such programs, therefore they may alert the user.

Your welcome. There's nothing showing in the Smitfraudfix log, so let's just get rid of that O24.

Please run Notepad and paste the contents of the codebox into a new file. Please do not include the word Code:

Save the file to the desktop as fix.reg and make sure the "Save as Type" field says "All Files". Then please go to the desktop and double-click on fix.reg, and click Yes to merge it with the registry.

Reboot, and post a new HijackThis log.

as you said the computer appears to be clean, im starting to learn how to read my own hjt log and pick some of the nasties out to =p its a start but i wanna learn alot more
