Hi im using Safari right now! my computer download the windows update and it downloaded safari. i have vista btw.

i feel like it is faster than firefox..... but i need to learn more about safari.

1: is the security on par with firefox?

2: you know in firefox theres an add-on called "no script" is there a equivalent feature like that in safari? if so.... how do i get it?

3: safari is from apple right? why does it work on windows? or it jus work? like quicktime?

4: is the security better than Internet Explorer?

5: how do i have tabs? like say i type google.com and when i type ebay.com i want the google tab to still be there and it auto show me the ebay tab.

6: how do i make it delete cookies and history automactically when close the browser?

Safari is developed by apple but it uses the webkit open source code to do so. I would google and wikipedia search webkit browsers. They did that so that Mac can make the plunge into the web based market, since the next big trend in technology will most likely be turning everything into a web based application.

i use safari... using it at the moment on a friends mac. I like safari i use it sometimes and if i can't use safari then i Firefox at home and also on the mac :D

to get another tab try pressing

ctrl+T

or
'file->new tab

thats how it is in firefox

well when i use firefox i use an add-on called "tab mix plus" which when i click stuff it will open a new tab for me while keeping the previous tab like crazy browser.

is there a way for safari to automatically open in new tab for us while keeping the previous tabs without hold this button hold that button?

I'm using Safari too.
To open a page in a new TAB, click it with the middle mouse button.

ill try that but is it a way to make it automactically?

yup the middle mouse click on links works fine.... but is tehre a way to make it new tab when i type in new address at the address bar?

I used it on my mac for a while as it seemed to be faster and take less resources than Firefox. However, I ended up switching back to Firefox due to the plugins and such that I use.

1: I don't know for sure, but I would suspect under a normal install they are the same. However, there are so many plugins for Firefox that add security, I'd think Firefox would be the most secure.

2: Someone may have made something equivalent to it, but again, I switched back to Firefox mostly due to the plugins...

3: It's like quicktime. So many people are running Windows on their apple's now, I guess they figured there's a "market" for it. Plus, I suppose it's already been slightly converted for the new x86 macs.

4: It's another browser based off Mozilla. I'm sure it's better than IE. If anything, less "bad things" are set to target it as compared to IE.

5: I always use the center click. As others mentioned, it works in most any browser supporting tabs today.

6: History, you could probably set it to 0 days or something like that. Same with Cache (0KB). Not sure about cookies right off... I don't worry about that stuff too much :P

I am not sure exactly what you are answering here, but to clarify something safari is not based off of the Mozilla project, it is in fact a webkit browser.

There are plug ins for Safari, but it is not as popular as Firefox to the open source community.

I personally also use Firefox on my Mac, mainly because of the plug ins I am so accustomed to.
