Hi need to find out if there is a way of finding my product key for windows

I tried to reinstall windows 10 on my laptop but I was unsuccessful and the hard drive was wiped and the label on the bottom has been worn off so I can see the key any more

If the drive has been wiped, how is he gonna recover the key?

Did the windows 10 install actually finish? It's very possible that the installation will activate after booting to the desktop as long as the install string is listed on MS servers.

If it's a laptop that came with 8 or 10 then the key is saved in the BIOS and it'll automatically activate anyway.

The machine was windows 7 when I got it but I upgraded it to windows 10 because I had windows 10 on my main pc

I think even then it should still activate automatically. Have you tried a fresh Windows install since?

I hate to say that if you wiped when doing the reload and you don't have the sticker you might be SOL. You can always try and reinstall but more then likely your going to have to go buy a Windows 10 license. Which I will recommend that if you want any control of the OS you need Pro.
