Hi8 to Computer?

Hi. Quick question. How would I get video from my Hi8 camcorder to my computer? Thanks.

I used my Digital8 camera and transfered it though firewire. That's probably the best way to preserve the quality, but of course you need a digital8 camera or recorder...

If you don't want to invest that much, look into some basic capture card. I'd suggest a WinTV PVR series.

you can with something like a Dazzle 90. I have one and it works great.

no, cause first of all, S-Video only does video, not sound.
And second of all, you need a captuer source. So eaither capture cards or a vid card with vivo.

Probably but i love the Pinnacle video editing software the Dazzle series includes.

I have firewire installed in my PC. i find it fast. but what about a USB?
and programs to download video from you camera is easy. movie maker can do it.

Firewire is a much better choice for video editing, but to use it, he'd have to have a digital camera or something to convert from analog to digital. Either a capturecard(or bridge for firewire) or, as I mentioned, a Digital8 camera/player.
