Hibernation Error - Unable to mount drive...

Hey all!

I am having issues with a hard drive. I get a GRUB error when I turn on the machine after BIOS has loaded (no number associated with GRUB error). I can boot into a USB live CD of linux and when I try to mount the hard drive partition with XP on it (I am dual booting Jolicloud and XP) I get the following error:

Error mounting: mount exited with exit code 14: Windows is hibernated, refused to mount.
Failed to mount '/dev/sda2': Operation not permitted
The NTFS partition is hibernated. Please resume and shutdown Windows
properly, or mount the volume read-only with the 'ro' mount option, or
mount the volume read-write with the 'remove_hiberfile' mount option.
For example type on the command line:

mount -t ntfs-3g -o remove_hiberfile /dev/sda2 /media/ACER

I tried the suggested command above in a terminal, but nothing happened ... Not sure where to go from here... help...!!!

You might want to start by doing a disk diagnostic on the hard drive by downloading the hard drive makers utility. Or it could just be an issue with hibernation, as there a lot of users who experience different issues coming out of it.

Not sure how I can run a diagnostic tool on the hard drive when I cannot mount the hard drive to diagnose it. I also am not familiar with any diagnostic tools for a USB LiveCD of linux that I can run on an installed hard drive to diagnose it... Can someone advise (or at lease point me in the right direction??)??
