what is the best way to hide files? some friends and i want to have a few small games we want to put on the share drive of the school network, but the admin or some other people keep deleting them, we have tried making them hidden but that didnt work, any other ways?

if they are just exe files, try to embed them in a word document... worked for me with the ol' drug lord game ;)

You might want to archive all the files into a .rar or .zip, then name it something that doesn't exist, but looks like it fits, in C:\windows\system for example, if C:\windows\system had ssldort1.vxd through ssldort14.vxd, rename (insert name of archive) ssldort15.vxd. Any time you want to play them, change the file extension to .rar or .zip (depending on what you used), open it, and extract to wherever. They're not going to delete a system file, especially not if it looks like it's part of a series.

but hes putting them on a shared drive so there is probably no system files on there in the first place

Most good network setups have the OS system files on more than one drive. Incase the main HDD fails, they can just set the secondary one to master and away they go again.

Just name the folder something inconspicious, such as "Student Documents" Or "Absolutely nothing to see here" or even "definately not a game in this folder"

omg, u too? ahhaahah. at first, the kids just put all the games and just a BUNCH of crap into a folder that was on the desktop. lmao, actually took a while for the admins and moderators to find out. after that, they used a teacher inbox folder. they still didnt find out. so yea, ppl at our school is just stupid. i got hold of a unregistered account on the school network, but..... havent had much time to do anything.

if u rename the things, then ppl might now knoe wat the hell the file or game is when they want to play. cuz a lot of ppl at our school play the rom games they got on there, but if its just u and ur ffriends, then i guess u can rename them to w/e.

I would laugh if one of your school admins posted on this forum aswell, it is pretty well known. Then they would find out about you. he he he he

LoL SO u want to hide files eh.... Heres the most simplest way that i know of requires no hacking skillz at all. Ok so u log on to ur account, The admins blocked the acess to the c drive or what ever the main dirve they call it. So you heres a nice glitch in windows. You open the start menu double click program files then u got the window open for program files. NExt you clikc the return or back arrow a couple of times till you get to the area you want in the c drive. Then use a cd or usb and put games in there like idk ummm emulators for snes or sega. know u can acess these files when ever you want. School usualy and probably will never find out.

are the files really restricted, or did they just hide the c drive, try run c:\ and see if that works, try regedit, most schools have it disabled too, and if they hide the games just type in sol.exe for solitare
