High Temp?

Should I be looking at CPU problems with the overheating and turning off? or is it problems with the HeatSink/Fan?

:( :( :( :( :(

EDIT: IM GOING CRAZY :P :D

By the time you went to a store or received AS5 via internet order your board would be no warmer then the ambient room temperature. The instant shutdown is either due to not replugging in the cpu fan?, did you lift out the cpu at all when going to reapply the thermal compound?, or... ut oh something on the board went due to seeing high tiemps for too long a period?!

When first applying AS5 you should be able to let the system run for about 3 to 4yrs. to initially see the compound heated sufficiently. There you will see cpu temps soar since it tales time for the compound to start adhering to hsf and cpu alike. You start to see that when shutting the system down for several hours to cool after the initial warmup. From there it still takes a few weeks to see the final bond and firm up.

If SpeedFan was seeing your dual core model cpu as seen temp #2 where that is generally seen as temp #1 on single core models the high temp could have resulted in what was seen on board here where the system failed to start at the highest fsb setting. The cpu on the last board did see this when it cooked after the cpu fan failed. When the fsb was lowered it would then run at the slower speed. cpu? board? or something not plugged in correctly?
