Hijack This log - possible online banking problem

Hi all,

I recently got a email through asking me to log on to my online banking. For some reason I clicked on it, despite knowing it was obviously a fraud, didn't enter my details or anything. All that showed up was a page could not be found thing. But then I thought it might have put something on my computer.

So I ran AVG and Malware - Nothing.

In the Hijack This log something caught my eye, see highlighted below.

I'm not at all in the know about this stuff, but everything apart from the highlighted entry seems OK.

Anyway i googled it and found loads of posts that said delete it. However when I tried it always was still there when I re-scanned. Do you think running it in safe mode would help?

Also, when I run HiJack this i get the following error message:

When I open the file, there is no HJT entry so I can't do anything but click OK. Could there still be something hidden in my computer? Or could something have made this happen? Again, would safe mode help?

That entry you have highlighted is nothing but an entry for windows live messenger that everyone with the program has. Run hijackthis again but this time follow the instructions in that window by right clicking on hijackthis and click on run as administrator and then it should have access to the hosts file.
