I can't believe I missed this post.

Looks like he installed it.

C:\Program Files (x86)\Trend Micro\HiJackThis\HiJackThis.exe

The log shows no signs of infections but its always best to run the program that Gamblingman has posted a link to and post the fresh logs.

From what I can see so far, you would want to rerun hijackthis and place checks next to these entries and then click on fix checked.

Best thing for you to do is fresh install.
But you can try to get rid of it with MAlwarebytes and Superantyspyware (remember to update them) and also run in safe mode, so you wont activate the virus.
 
I wanted him to at least run Malwarebytes because of the suspicious looking O4 - HKLM\..\RunOnce: [Launcher] %WINDIR%\SMINST\launcher.exe. Not willing to take a chance of there being an infection, better to check.

And no, he doesnt need to reinstall the OS, his problem can be dealt with through less extreme means. Such as scanning and working through HJT to resolve any issues.
 
Alright so I ran malwarebytes in Windows and in Safe Mode, no infections found. I also fixed the 3 files that johnb35 recommended.
