Hello one of my friends on msn keeps sending me a link and a :D right after. I have looked this up on google before and apparently it is some kind of bug or something.. Anyways today I accidentally clicked right on it as I have sitting down on my computer.. Some strange stuff started happening. For example it was if my left arrow key was being held down constantly. When I would right click on the desktop the drop down menu would turn invisible. So I am now worried that something might be fishy in my pc. So here is my Hijackthis log. If someone with HJT knowledge could plz look at it and tell me if anything looks off.. Whats with the stuff that say (no name).

Anyone?

I would also like to add that recently my computer get held up trying to come out of standby. When I turn my PC on (from Standby) it just shows my background for about 20-30 seconds and then goes to the login screen.

Yes people's msn do send links and i have said to them change their password.... and then if it still happens then they have a virus.... i have ever accepted crap like that..... so just be careful!
 
Yeah I have told him to change his password but I don't think he did.. Stupid Kid! I didn't mean to click on it I was trying to highlight it so I could look it up on google and I guess I clicked too close to it and it opened the link.
 
His system is likely infected, it would be a good idea for him to post a log here.

Please download Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware to your desktop.
  • Double-click mbam-setup.exe and follow the prompts to install the program.
  • At the end, be sure a checkmark is placed next to
    • Update Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware
    • and Launch Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware
  • then click Finish.
  • If an update is found, it will download and install the latest version.
  • Once the program has loaded, select Perform full scan, then click Scan.
  • When the scan is complete, click OK, then Show Results to view the results.
  • Be sure that everything is checked, and click Remove Selected.
  • When completed, a log will open in Notepad. please copy and paste the log into your next reply
    • If you accidently close it, the log file is saved here and will be named like this:

I searched for HolyBible.chm and nothing was found. I also searched hidden folders and files.

It seems to be running fine. Aside from the stuff that happened right after I clicked it, there has only been one other weird thing that happened. I was opening some files in My Documents and each file I clicked on would stay highlighted. Clicking on an empty space on the screen didn't clear the highlighted icons I basically had to click on each file to make it not highlighted. When a bunch of files were highlighted I tried double clicking on a single file and it opened up every file that was highlighted.
 
In that case I don't think there's any infections on your system. The problem you've described with the icons doesn't sound related to malware, and if it isn't recurrent I wouldn't worry about it.

There still is that weird problem when I turn my PC on from Standby. When I turn my computer on from stand by it shows my background blank with no icons or taskbar for about 30 seconds (sometimes longer.. I only started counting it). So it does this every once in a while however most times it will go straight to the login screen. I did update my windows to SP3.. That was when I noticed the problem happening, however that was also the same day I clicked on the link. Also when I updated to SP3 I had a custom login background (Used Logon Studio) however I have change it back to the default to see if that would help the problem but it still hangs once in a while when coming out of standby.
 
I suspect that's more likely related to SP3, although I'm not sure of the cause. You could try posting the problem in the Operating Systems subforum, hopefully people will have a better idea there.
