version 3.54.132 of Messenger Plus!

Theres also a process that only comes up when its doing its job (not freezing a program and not allowing it to end process, or taking up all the PF Usage.....in fact, I ran a search and it is in the prefetch folder as a pf file, though not an exe, as it is called in the processes), and its called Love nurb.exe Im guessing its some sort of malware/virus/ or whatever...which i wish to get rid of. I ran a search online, and nothing about it was found, so I wonder if its when my computer was hacked through Counter-strike 1.6 that one time (they were moving and making sounds in my drives, though I quickly shut off the pc, disconnected internet, and ran virus scanner, etc...but still nothing, even when I scan the prefetch file, so its either an unknown virus, or some sort of...other thing...and my knowledge on computers is limited)

So the only Idea I have is, its something that messes with the Page File Usages History and possibly other processes, etc, etc....and deleting the pf file doesn't work because its only recreated.

Go to Add\Remove programs, under Messenger Plus there should be an option to remove the sponsor software (C2media). Remove it. I need to go out now, Byteman will help you with the other problems.

After following Buzzes instructions some of the following files MAY or MAY NOT be present. Follow the below instructions as best possible...

Make sure you can view all files and folders, (open My Computer/Tools/folder option/view tab, and check "Show hidden files and folders", and unckeck "Hide protected operating systems files" and "Hide extensions for known file types").

Download LSPFix from here . (we'll need it later)

In HijackThis go to the Misc Tools Section and open Process Manager. If you see any of the following processes, kill them:

C:\DOCUME~1\Owner\APPLIC~1\MAGSRE~1\Load Mpeg.exe
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Blah Extra Drv Sixth\Love nurb.exe
C:\DOCUME~1\Owner\APPLIC~1\TRAYSC~1\For Deaf.exe

Then click the Back button and check the following entries:

R3 - Default URLSearchHook is missing
O2 - BHO: (no name) - {549B5CA7-4A86-11D7-A4DF-000874180BB3} - (no file)
O2 - BHO: (no name) - {75B70237-539E-0908-7D3E-A7AD10F0CE03} - C:\DOCUME~1\Owner\APPLIC~1\MAGSRE~1\Load Mpeg.exe
O2 - BHO: Starware - {CA356D79-679B-4b4c-8E49-5AF97014F4C1} - C:\Program Files\Starware\bin\Starware.dll
O2 - BHO: (no name) - {FDD3B846-8D59-4ffb-8758-209B6AD74ACC} - (no file)
O3 - Toolbar: Starware - {D49E9D35-254C-4c6a-9D17-95018D228FF5} - C:\Program Files\Starware\bin\Starware.dll
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [drvsixthbasehole] C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Blah Extra Drv Sixth\Love nurb.exe
O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [Error Free] C:\DOCUME~1\Owner\APPLIC~1\TRAYSC~1\For Deaf.exe
O16 - DPF: {31B7EB4E-8B4B-11D1-A789-00A0CC6651A8} (Cult3D ActiveX Player) - http://www.cult3d.com/download/cult.cab
O16 - DPF: {2A7EFEAA-8059-4C69-8FE2-4BA999C3B102} (TrickCtrl Class) - https://ssl2.gcrest.com/trickster/c...ickLauncher.cab

Now, go back to the Misc Tools Section and open the Delete File on Reboot button. Browse to the following files:

C:\DOCUME~1\Owner\APPLIC~1\MAGSRE~1\Load Mpeg.exe
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Blah Extra Drv Sixth\Love nurb.exe
C:\DOCUME~1\Owner\APPLIC~1\TRAYSC~1\For Deaf.exe

Now reboot to safemode (hit the F8 key repeatedly when computer starts up), and delete the following entire folders:

C:\DOCUME~1\Owner\APPLIC~1\MAGSRE~1\
C:\Program Files\Starware
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Blah Extra Drv Sixth
C:\DOCUME~1\Owner\APPLIC~1\TRAYSC~1

Go to the Window\Prefetch folder and delete the entire CONTENTS of that folder.

Reboot normal and open LSPFix. Check the "i know what I'm doing" box and you should see the "xfire_lsp_10650.dll" file in the lower RIGHT hand pane (the Remove pane). That should be the only one there. Then click Finish.

Download Ccleaner and run it.

Reboot again and post another HijackThis log. :)

First, i'd like to say thanks for your help up until now, I am much oblidged, as well as I have another question. When we get all of this all done and over with, should I return my windows view settings back to invisible and etc?

Only if you want to, but I would suggest you at least keep the file extension setting.

Are you still experiencing any of the problems/symptoms from before (resources being sucked up, and all...)?

I'd have to run a game, or wait until something interfered. A few times when i would load up a movie file on BSPlayer, it would freeze, and Love nurb.exe would show up in the process list. Also, recently, when i play games (this didn't happen before), it would run at 100 percent, and the fan would turn up its speed to keep the system cool, as well as sometimes a model would be carrying a gun but I could not see the gun.....**this also happened as well, sometimes when i save pictures to the computer, or run a web browser for a certain ammount of time, as well as possible other programs. If I do have any of this trouble, I will make sure to get help from you guys (Since why would I run out to Geek Squad to pay 50 dollars for something I can get helped with through generosity...unless...theres a catch to your services *suspicious look*).....

One more thing though....will having my files unhidden and etc, make my computer a bigger threat of being hacked into, or other malicious code, program, and files? Or am I fine? Thats why I asked if I should....please tell me, and I'll take your advice...btw, Nice dexter avatar/icon XD.

Anyways, I thank you so very much, and I wish for you all to have a good day. Thank you Buzz, and Byteman, you are now my savior XD Sore ja

having them viewable makes not difference, only difference is that you can now see them. Malware is able to see the stuff whether or not you have them viewable. GeekSquad... ha, ha,... (i actually work for them part-time, and believe me, thier answer to alot of problems is format/restore, instead of fixing things, then they nail you for more $$ when they can).

I had to result to going to GeekSquad though one time, because it was my first time opening up a computer, and I was trying to install a video card, it got stuck a little and couldn't be read...I will say this though....I imagined a computer to be filled from top to brim with wires, switches, chips, and everything.....and it wasn't lol....so even though I will say it was a good learning experience, it cost me like 50 dollars XD

But I will say this though, this computer is an Emachines...and taking advice from friends....next computer I have...im going to make it....but of course i'll have to kidnap one of my computer knowing friends....oh come on, they can live off of skim milk and toasted wheat for a few weeks XD

I think theyre good for hardware related issues, (if you've got the muny) but when it comes to spyware, they'd rather whack windows and start over. BTW, I don't see many emachines come in with hardware problems, sony's either, but dells, HP's... run away!!

Edit: ooopss,.. at my day job, I'm using a dell,... oh well... ;)

Hah. Well, I only have 5 PCI slots, so im limited when it comes to video cards. I have a friend though who insists on me switching to a linux based system though. I could probably, but then i'd have to memorize alot of commands....it would be like me when i used AOL, and then giving my a constant connection without a special program to use through it....I remember...I had no idea how to use a computer, only AOL lol so it'd be like that except with linux. But I do hear good things from it ^^
