Hitman Blood Money... reboot issue

My PC reboots everytime during Hitman gameplay, and as you know, there's no saving, so it's driving me pretty crazy to have to complete a level before my system reboots.
Anyone heard of anything to solve this?

I think he means that since you can't come back to a save in the middel of a level once you quit, when it crashes he has to start over.

And yeah, my first thought would be installing the latest patches.
 
right about the save 34erd.
i've got patch 1.2 and got the latest radeon drivers.
really don't know what's up.
 
And did you patch to the latest version after you first posted about this problem or before you posted here about it? Cause if you installed the 1.2 patch and got the problems you may want to reinstall the game and install 1.1.
 
And did you by any chance install a no-cd crack... cause that can cause problems (along with being ileagal).
 
cd cracks are legal, but no, i have an original version.
i bought my game with the 1.2 patch already applied to it.
and i found what the problem was...
sound card acceleration
i adjusted the dxdiag.exe sound acceleration settings down to basic, since i am running onboard sound, and it worked perfectly.
hhhhhhmmmmm.... although, i'll try running it on max again. i just upgraded my CPU to a 3ghs+ht... that might help process sound without faulting to a reboot.
i'll let all know.
 
I wasn't arguing with you, we posted at almost the same time. I never saw the post previous to mine.
And yes, you are right about the no-CD cracks.
