HL2 graphics

when i crank up the settings on the graphics i dont see a difference in quality, it just runs slower. what's the bets settings? i have a ATI RX600 TX 128 MB-128bit PCI-E 16x
 
Processor and ram? I always use the 1024x768 for games... After that everything else gets to small.. If you bring down the console with the ~ key (next to the 1) you can type in cl_showfps 1.. You should try to have a constant fps value that doesnt drop below 60 fps.. Even in dense smoke. Change the settings and use the video test mode to find your average fps... (Mine was 109.7fps average) :)
 
well, you wont really see a difference in the beginning of the game except when your on the subway, if you look at the metal poles, they look better, but i would imagine that once you get to the water it would look better.
