I did my first build today - and had a chance to toy around with it. Granted I'm upgrading from a 5 year old Pentium 4 PC - but this thing is blazing fast - at stock speeds.

When I installed AVG - I'd click one step - and before I got done clicking - it was asking for me to click again to the next step - and then befor I pressed the button it was onto the next menu.

Youtube videos actually look like TV programs for once.

Wanted to thank everybody for their help. As of now - everything is working peachy and I'm glad I stretched a bit on my budget to build beyond my basic needs into the want area.

Still need to add TV tuner card - to watch TV on 2nd monitor - but the i7 920 is a beast. For the time being - I'm an intel fanboy.:good:

For a tv tuner... just gonna say, the EVGA inDtube is awesome;)

Looks pretty cool. Not exactly waht i was lookin for. I want to run my Comcast box hardwired through my PC so I can watch a ballgame while I multitaxk on another monitor.

Ah, more like a video capture card then? What kinda inputs, component(red green blue) or composite(yellow+white/red audio)?

For now - looking at a decent picture quality - without many bells and whistles. I need about 20 feet of cable to get the job done so whatever is cheapest when I price it out. Could be S-video - Coax - or whatever is most economical without sacraficing picture quality.

Probably gonna try this one - since it has pretty decent reviews compared to alot of other tv tuners - and it's only 30 bucks. I'm open to suggestions though.
