home network transfers, wirelessly

ok so I want to back up a few desktop folders onto my NEW laptop cause im planning on wiping my HD on my desktop, i want to do it wirelessly over. how do i do this? my laptop is an lenovo thinkpad x200 (windows xp proffesional) my desktop is a dell xps630(running vista 32bit)

Connect them all to a network, enable any homegroup on a Vista machine, setup and network on an XP machine, get all the computer's to see each other on the network, then just copy whatever information you want to keep on to your new laptop via windows network.
