Please help!!!

Ok, so when I try to turn the computer on, nothing happens! I can't figure out how to hook up the power switch from my new case,(so I was testing using my old power button).. I can't figure out where to hook up my new fans either. I'm worried I might have fried the mb.

I think I know the cable that is supposed to go in the pink slot. I had it in there, but I took it out for the picture. Any help is appreciated and I'll take some better pics if necessary. The green circle is around all the tiny cable that go to the front of my new case,(power, reset, usb, etc).. I have no idea where they go.

Did you build this your self? Can you give us some more info on what kind of motherboard it is?
I'm afraid I can't tell. This is just my HP computer. The ps fried and I had it working with a new ps, but I couldnt fit my new ps in the case, so I bought a new case and I guess the transfer part got the best of me.

ok well can you post what model it is? and normaly the speaker, power, reset, ect... get pluged in the bottom of the mobo. and on the mobo ther should be in tiny writing stuff like USB1, USB2, SPK, PWRON, and such.

hp pavilion a255c :)

Thanks for the support Nero.

well during the transfer of cases, did you make sure you put the standoffs between the case and the motherboard? standoffs usually look like little screws that have a hole on the top of them for another screw (which you screw your motherboard into) if you screw the mobo directly on the case then chances are that it is shorting out, no harm is usually done, just unscrew the mobo, screw in the standoffs and screw the mobo onto the standoffs.

Though your problem looks like its actually a jumper problem.
Those connections on the new case are the jumpers for the power button, reset button and various LEDs on the front of the case. the most important one is the power jumper. anyways we gotta find where it goes. can you get a picture of the motherboard without all those cables in the way, particularly a nice close-up of the lower right portion of it, which is where the jumper pins usually are.

And if i'm seeing this right the plug that needs to go into the slot circled in pink is this one...

Thanks everyone!!!

It works!

I had the wrong ps cable to begin with. Then I had things jumbled, but I just kept trying until the beeping stopped and now it works. Hurrah!

And one more thing, ya, the bottom cables were part of the problem. :P
