Hooking up 2 routers for xbox play?

I have DSL downstairs in the living room wired to a computer. I usually run my xbox 360 wired to the wireless router. I have a computer upstairs with a wireless access card. I have a wireless G router and a wireless G card in the desktop. I have noticed that the Microsoft network adapters run N. Would the xbox wireless N adapter optimize the 360 without an N router?

I read that USB adapters will not work with the 360 but that I can use other brands of adapters so long as they are ethernet ready. Can I buy any wireless router or will I want a G or N specifically?

If N would I want it downstairs and the G upstairs?

Is it hard to add a second router?

This is all so I can play my xbox upstairs without buying the cheap microsoft adapter that is only good for the xbox. May be adding a 3rd wireless computer to the network soon. Also, I am probably setting up the file sharing so I can use my xbox to play my computer files on TV. I saw there are different grades of N also, not sure how that figures in.

I can't properly answer the hard parts of that, but I do know that you'll want at least G. Wireless B is outdated and has very limited speed and range compared to G.
