Ok so Do I need to have a modem in my pc in order to get on the net? I thought I could just connect my pc to the router to get connection. Like with my laptop I just hook the ethernet cable to it and it connects. Anyhelp would be super.

if you have a place to hook that ethernet cable up to you will be fine. It just needs to connect to the computer. This is done via an ethernet card.

I'm pretty sure you need a modem internally or externally to get online. Unless this is networking onto someone else's connection, you need a modem to access the net.

yup, just plug it in the the router via a ethernet cord. (not x-over or crossover cord)

Most routers can be connected to clients via crossovers as well. They simply register that its a crossover and "change" it so it acts as a standard ethernet cable.

Good to know.
