I got computer and the motherboard turns on (fans, lights, etc.). But it seems that the hard drives are not loading and there is no video on my new monitior. Any ideas? I swithced out HD with a good one and the Bios of that one loads but I just get a blinking cursor. Is the motherboard shot or just the HD and video. Pleas help, Thank You.

Is this the first time you use it? It sounds like you are missing the OS (Windows)...did it come with the PC? Or did you buy the PC blank? If that is the case, you will need to install an OS.

:eek:Note: info on comps are blow paragraph for a petty pic of whats going on.

Ok, I found a little more about it. When I changed the hard drive (HD) to a working computer it turned on and said "no operating Sys. and the BIOS shows nothing for HD space just zeros. But when I put the HD back into in the new computer the HD does not turn on. Only when I change ide ports when computers on, but I still have no video. Ok? Well I put a good HD into the new computer it turns on but no video. When I got this computer it had an OS windows XP that means it did not if this occured right? Would it be worth it to buy a cheap video card just to see if I can at least view the BIOS? Is this two seperate issues, video and HD? How will I knoe if the HD is bad or not? Thank You so much for your help guys/gals!!!!!!
