Hopefully Easy Excel??

ok so i am trying to make a pitching chart. when i put the count in one of the cells, for instance 1-0 then i tab over to the next one it puts jan-00 in the cell. how do i make it so that 1-0 stays in the cell rather then jan-00?

Look around for some of the automated features of Excel. Somewhere there should be a general "Auto-Fix" check box or something that you just un-check. Sorry I can't be of more help, but I know that I had to do that for Word, just can't remember where exactly that is located...
