Hey Everyone,

I am sure there are simular posts however I googled for ages with out hope. I am wanting to host behind a router but I cannot get ports to forward. They are sipposed to work but the feature seems not to work.

Are there any soloutions to getting through the router with forwarding ports?

If there is not is there some windows software which will allow me to host before the router with two network cards. One with the internet coming in and another with the internet going out to the router. Kind of an internet server like SUSE LINUX however I wish to use windows where my server is setup on.

Thanks,

Brian

Plz help

Hey Again,

Please do help me as this is real urgent - I am not wanting to by a new router. I would rather some one out there redirected me to some windows software which would allow me to host a website through a router without forwarding ports.

thanks,

Brian

You can set the machine up in the router as a DMZ, which will bypass all router settings and NAT, however that is also a security risk.

Your ISP may be blocking incoming port 80 requests. That is common and not unheard of.

Thanx Mate

Hey,

Great News - Your last tip Made it all work. I though the router buggered however it was just that the ISP was blocking some ports which I was not aware of and have never had that before.

Thanx again,

Brian
