Hot chipset on Asus A8N32 SLI Deluxe

yes it did.. but as you can see.. its quite tall.. it would block the airflow of my CPU fan im afraid... but i gues i could try is then i get home
 
i have that same board , it does seem to run a bit hotter than most, but not that hot. sounds like an air flow problem forsure.
 
I wouldn't touch the thermal pads, replacing would help a little but I don't think it would be enough. A 30mm fan shouldn't make too much noise, no more than the ones on your video cards (assuming stock coolers), they are typically rated at ~25dB @ ~9000RPM
 
i putted up the fan that came with my motherboard... the motherboard went to 47*C and the CPU temp went up by a few degrees, but nothing fancy..
I think ill keep it like this for a wile.. see how it does..
