Pretty open end question. What hotfix are you talking about?

Well, I am having a problem with my DVD/Cd burner. It will read a CD/DVD but it will not autoplay. It will only show me a window with the files on it.
I cant change the Autoplay in DVD drive properties and the registry is like it is suppose to be the values and settings.
DVD movies will not Autoplay in Windows Media Player. But i can open Windows Media Player and click play DVD and they play fine. I put in a softare install disk and it will not Autoplay i have to go to run and manually execute the setup file.
The burner burns DVD's or CD's fine. Plays DVD's or CD's fine. Just no Autoplay.
I tried an AutoFix program from Microsoft AutoFix Repair Wizard for that problem. It fixed a couple things but reported there were problems it either couldnt fix or the hardware was malfuncitoning.
I was thinking about trying a Hotfix program from Microsoft but never heard of it before so just kind of leary i guess. And, dont want to buy a new burner if it is not going to fix the problem either.
Only sure way to fix it if it is not the burner is to do a fresh install but kind of scary. not that sure of myself never done one before.

I ran it. It did find a few things wrong and fixed most of them but it said that there was two things either it couldnt fix or the drive was malfunctioning.
I think it is only going to be fixed by a fresh install of the OS. Not exactly what I wanted to do cause other than no autoplay it is running really well. But, I guess if I want it perferct, if there is such a thing, that is what i need to do. I mean the DVD/cd works fine just no autorun. I'm not sure if i shouldnt just wait until something major happens then do it.
Do you think I should do a reinstall or if it is really neccesary at this point. Only reason I guess I am asking is cause I have never done a reinstall before and I am kind of gunshy about doing one over something that is maybe just trivial.
