hello since last nov. i have been having switch off problems with my computer while playing games..i thought it was a faulty graphics card so i got it changed under warranty..when i installed the new card which (lucky me) :) they sent me a far more powerfull card the problem got worse..in desperation i placed the psu(480w thermaltake purepower) outside the computer but to no avail..it seemed to be running very hot so i placed a large domestic fan underneath it and since then no more problems...before when under pressure it was giving a reading of 50 -55 and cutting off the machine ..now with the new but awkard situation its only reading a max of 43,with no cut outs...is the psu faulty or should i look at getting a new case/cooling system

no, you should not improve case cooling, that PSU is 100% faulty, no power supply should be doing that. If its under warranty then your in luck if not then....

For starters the only good Tt PSUs cost a lot of money (most of theirs are bling-bling type and for the price of the good ones you could have done better). Secondly, 55C isnt enough to kil a system so that shouldnt be a problem but just to avoid ambiguity ... what is 55C?
