and not the motherboard

If you have the brand and model of your computer you can google it online and find out that way, or you can tell us and we will look it up.

Turn off the pc. Unplug it and push the power button a few times. Take the side panel off. The mb brand and model will be stamped on it. So will the rev number.

You can also dl cpu-z and it will tell you the mb model , rev #, and bios version.

And don't forget this (FreeWare) gem: Belarc Advisor -- they've been around for years:

http://www.belarc.com/free_download.html

...everytime you run it, it rechecks everything you have and gives a report, which you can print it out for reference. Or if you're helping someone figure out a problem they're having with their PC, THEY can download/install & run it, then send you the results so you can tell them WTH they have (as most people don't even know the BRAND of their PCs)! ;-)

I use it for my own PC and put it on other people's PCs when I am helping them and need to know exactly what hardware (or software) they have on it. It's not the ONLY info-type utility you need but should be ONE of them in your "PC toolbox."
