Ok, i just got a new toshiba laptop for my son, and someone at work set it up with microsoft office 2007 and other programs, but now my son wants to move and group different files in a way that makes sense for him, so he can find everything. I cant figure out how, and the tech guy at work is really busy. Can anyone help? I'm not great with computers, so a step by step explaination would be apreciated.

I'm not 100% sure I understand the request. However, it sounds like you want to use shortcuts. A shortcut Is a pointer to the program that you can put anywhere. Such as you can make shortcuts on your desk top for all of your commonly used programs and then organize those shortcuts into folders or groups on your desktop... Is that what you mean?

It's kind of a vague question since we really don't know how he wants to set up the files. But the easiest way for him to find his files (and not to mention for you to monitor his files), is to just make a new folder on the desktop, and put his name as the title of the folder.

That way he can just throw all his stuff in there and find it easy just by double clicking on it. All you have to do is right click anywhere on the desktop, then New -> Folder.

how about to use a easier way that i using now.
put every thing in your start manu
you can organize the software you want on star manu.just figure out what software you
want to use easier, then right click on it chose "pin to start manu"
and then you will find the software is pined in the section with your IE and Email software
of course their are some settings can make it has better performance if you think this idea is good then i will give you more info about it
