how can i turn a wired modem into a wireless internet

i have a virgin media motorola modem

what do i need to buy and can someone give me a step by step guide so that the person living with me can get it wirelessly on their laptop

Check to see whqat wireless signal the laptop receieves. It is probably a b or g. So you would need to get a wireless router that works in the b/g range. Simple as that.
