How cool is too cool?

I was wondering if it would be bad to have the computer be really cool? jk(not that kind of cool) I was going to get 2 80mm fans to pull cold air in and than there'd be one 80mm on the side to pull cold air in, than a 120mm on the back to pull the warm air out, I was wondering if it would be too cold in there. Right now I have 1 80mm pulling cold air in, than 1 90mm(not sure on that) pulling the hot air out and the processor is about 50-60C, so with the 2 fans in the front and then the 1 fan on the side, than the one fan in the back, I'm guessing it'd be somewhere between 35-50C. Also, I was thinking about getting a new cooling compound for the processor, any suggestions? I'm thinking about Arctic Silver. Also, the fan for my Pentium D 805 could be a lot quieter, I know adding three more fans is going to be loud, so it would help to get that a little quieter.

Unless your room temperature is like ridiculously cold, you really can't get to the point where its too cold inside the computer, or when condensation occurs i guess. Just go on newegg or xoxide and pick a socket 775 cooler, i can't go on right now as it will take me ages to load since i have a crappy internet connection now.

Lol, no your cooluing solution described there would not make it too cool in there. In fact its still relatively hot in there. CPU's and other components are perfectly capable of running at way below -100*c (hence liqud nitrogen cooling), a standard peltier cooler at say 150w would cool an average CPU to aroun 1*c

35-50*c is not cold by any stretch of the imagination.

alright thanks, actually I'm on newegg right now, so I can do that without a problem. My room's probobly the hottest in the house, so everything should be fine. When the windows are shut, it's even warm in the winter:D lol

I know it's not, it's still really hot, but it'd be better than what it's at now I guess. Thanks for the info about how cold it can get.

there is no too cold

people who want extreme cooling using Phase Change and have Liquid Nitrogen used

they can get their CPU to well below -100C

Ya so with air cooling, the cooler the better, in fact that is always the case. It just helps materials conduct better, why do you think they are trying to get superconductors to work at room temperature, well so you don't have to have phase change cooling to get it to run.

Actually, some processors have what is known as a "cold bug", where they start having problems, generally starting at -40C.

If you've got electricity to throw around, you could get a mini fridge, and use some tape, cardboard and air ducting to cool the air entering your computer, seeing how hot it is over there.

nah, my $ is running low, unless I sold my Nintendo DS (never use it, but I still want to keep it) this will be the last time I upgrade for a while. So I think my computer will be fine with this next cart that I got setup.

me neither, my HDD is plenty hot enough, my new computer isn't up and running right now because I retuned my video card, but on my old computer it's 44C, is that hot or cold, it seems really hot to me.

It's warm, but not dangerously hot. The drive heaters are made to heat the drive before booting, they generate enough heat themselves when running!

Considering some fanatics use liquid nitrogen to cool to sub zero temperatures, none of you guys are even in the ballpark. lol :D

Ha i think thats a waste of money. my STORE BOUGHT comp's temps are 28C
