When i work on my computer for 4 to 5 days it slows down, however i follow the step given below. it has XP Windows. It has K7 antivirus.
I delete temp files by printing %temp% in its Run option
I also delete files by printing prefetch in its Run option
I print tree in its Run option and press ok
I delete files in C by printing cleanmgr in its Run option

Are these activities sufficient to keep my desktop in optimized form so that it could run well. Could you suggest me anything more about it that it could be run fast without any trouble?

XP is outdated and doesn't get any updates anymore, I would suggest upgrading your OS. What are you specs?

CCleaner is a great tool to remove useless files.

ditto on ccleaner. Also make sure you are not running out of space on your c: drive. Upgrading the OS is a good, as long as the RAM in the machine isn't max'ed out at a low/small value. posting the specs will be a big help in giving advice as to which way to go to upgrade. Easy way is to run Belarc Advisor (free version), and post the first lines from Operating System, Processor , Main Circuit Board, & Memory Modules , along with the first 2 lines from Drives results. That will give a pretty good picture of what you'r running.

What are the specs of the PC? There's not really much you can do if you're using something like an old Pentium 3 with 512 MB of RAM..
When i work on my computer for 4 to 5 days

There's always rebooting..............
