How could I make this setup work?

Ok I'm going to do the best I can to describe my situation, and how I'm trying to make everything work. I'm in Korea, in a dorm room, fairly small. I just built a new computer. I have my computer at my desk, and I have logitech speakers hooked up to my computer. Directly behind me I have my tv, which has a panasonic sorround system that sounds amazing. I want a way to be able to, when I want, have my computer sound come from those speakers. I ran a 30 ft HDMI cable around from computer to tv, so the tv is like a second monitor, thinking that HDMI transfers sound, so it would work, but all the sound still comes from my computer speakers. I hope I explained what I'm trying to do well enough. I'll leave computer specs bellow just incase there is something limiting with them. Thanks.

Windows 8x64
i5-4570s
MSI Z87-G45
Radeon HD 7850 2 gb
Realtek High Definition Audio

Let me know if I left anything out or need to be more clear on anything. Thanks.

Only certain specifications of HDMI carry sound, so check that your cable is (i think 1.2 or better). The other way is to run the sound to the 5.1 amp then run a line out to the computer speakers thus switching it from the 5.1 system.

It would be best to draw a schematic, even a simple one, and post it up for us to consider.

OK I just figured it out messing with my settings. Went to control panel, sound options and had to set the tv to default sound. So when I want it through tv I switch to tv, when I want it through computer speakers I switch back.
