How do i backup Firefox's bookmarks menu/Toolbar?

It keeps either deletes my bookmarks or, leaves the bookmark but erases the location information stored in them. and i need to be able to know i can restore them. Also is there an easy way to import the firefox bookmarks into internet explorer?

the only way i know to backup the bookmarks, other then clicking and draggin one by one to a folder, is:

go to c:
users
(your name)
application data (hidden)
mozilla
firefox
profiles
(some randomly named folder)
and then backup the 2 bookmark files

in order to restore your bookmarks, just copy those files back to that same folder
(warning, this will copy ALL bookmarks though. and when you restore it, it will return all the bookmarks exactly like they were when you created the backup.)

I use Foxmarks which automatically synchronizes the bookmarks and passwords to their server, so I install the Foxmarks add-on on all of my computers, that way the bookmarks are the same on each computer and I don't have to worry about loosing them.
