How do I burn an AVI file to DVD?

I have an AVI file from my video camera and I want to convert it to a dvd player format... how do i do that?

It will play on dvd player//assuming your machine can play dvd-r discs!

As for compressing it...i dunno man...I make sure my file fit on disc before i burn..maybe a dual layer disc might be a solution.

Thats ok I think I figured it out with Adobe Encore... I didnt even know I had that program with Premiere!

will your DVD player read avi files? Most dont so you will need to convert it to a dvd file, use Nero or if your running Vista use the windows dvd maker to make a dvd video and then just drag and drop the file to burn. once your done if the video is still too big to fit onto a dvd you can use a DL DVD or use DVDshrink to compress your video, Yes it's time comsuming but it works!
