How do I delete Window messanger window

Every time my computer boots up the live messanger window pops up, and the icon appears on the bar at the bottom of the (taskBar) screen. How do I stop it from poping up every time I turn on my compyter. I have Window 7 Home Premuim.
 
Open windows live messenger, click on tools, options and then click on sign in on the left and uncheck the option where it says automatically run windows live messenger when i log on to windows.
