How do i figure out what CPU i have.

It should fit fine. Although people seem to sidagree with me, but I have installed over 30+ mobos and i have nevr had a problem installing a ATX or Micro ATX into a standered ATX case. And thats what ATX is... A Standered so it should fit fine as long as your current mobo is ATX.

I've heard that the 3200+ actually means that it's as fast as a previous core running at 3200MHz. :P And it's July 23.

You already can
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16819103535
There are MANY stores that have already made the price drops on their CPU, you can get a 3500+ for 115$ from newegg, or for 140$ from Frys and it'll come with a mobo(in store only i belive, but you can check website).

Also the model number of a AMD is in a rough general comparisin to a intel P4 model.

I don't get paid till June 7th and my sisters baby is due on the 4th and when she gives birth i have to drive from South Carolina to Connecticut NOOOOOO!!!!

Yes I believe the 3200+ rating is supposed to mean it's performing like an old Thunderbird would do at 3.2GHz.

Somebody correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't this old but commonly used 'intel equivalent' reasoning just a common misconception among people? That has been floating around for years.

That and the fact that a higher number = more sails.
