how do i find out what graphics card would be compatible?

hi i have a winxp ,from time computers, sys model P4M266-8235, bios- pheonix - awardBios v6.00PG, intel celeron cpu 2.4ghz.

how do i find out 1) what my graphics card is and 2) what upgrade card would be req....agp/pci?

and yes im a computer illiterate!!!
 
If it is an AGP ATI Radeon 256MB card, then yes, insert it into the brown slot, installed the latest drivers, and you should be okay.
 
ok thank you very much indeed... had to ask cause opened up my pc and saw the 2 slots.. had nearly bought a pci one !

Grrrr have just taken comp side off & took a photo to show you thinking i could upload it to show you hmmm- ok hopefully one last question--

the pic showed. a red agp1 slot ( but thats in middle of board)((what is it))
then.......................3 white pci slots and under that
1 brown apg slot..

hopefully in right in presuming the card req would go into the bottom brown slot seeing its near the rear of the computer allowing for cables? etc to plug into said card..
