How do I find the details about my vid card?

I was going to upgrade my video card, but I didn't want to get one that sucks worse than the one that I have right now.
 
If your running windows,
Start>All programs>Accessories>System tools>System infomation...
Then in the left colum go to components>Display...
That should give you the info you need.

Or if your just after the name off the graphics card Right click on desktop>Properties>Settings...

I found out what I need to know about the video card, I think since I am upgrading that I will use Everest in case I need to know something else, thanks. My video card is a 8 MB ATI 3D RAGE Pro AGP 2X, should I upgrade, I was thinking about upgradeing to at least a 32 MB with a TV adapter(my mom has a bigscreen, that would be so cool to play a game on that)

EDIT: Thanks for telling me about Everest, I just downloaded it and it tells me EVERYTHING about my computer.

Well what are you gonna use it for, and what are the rest of your pc specs to see if it wouldn't totally bottleneck your video card, and what is your budget?
 
my budget is about $250, that's an estimate(right now I've got about $135, but more money is coming soon), but on pricewatch that goes a long way.

I want to use my computer for high school work, Limewire(right now when it's on my comp runs REALLY slow), internet, Movies, Music, Games(Halo, Doom, etc.), MSN Messenger.

These are my current computer specs according to Everest
CPU: Intel Pentium III, 500 Mhz
Mobo: Intel Seattle II SE440BX-2
Memory: 255 MB SDRAM
Hard Disk: Seagate, Barracuda 7200.7 Plus 160023, 160 GB,
Video Card: ATI Technologies, Inc. 3D RAGE PRO AGP 2X 8 MB
Sound Card: Yamaha DS-XG Audio CODEC
Network Card: Linksys LNE100TX Fast Ethernet Adapter(LNE100TX v4), 100 mbps

Dang thats an old comp. :D Ok first off get rid of limewire and reformat your harddrive if you can or at least clean out your comp, limewire is so bad for your computer there is so much crap that comes with it, viruses, spyware etc. One more question is this a pre-built computer like an hp or something, if so what make and model is it?
 
It's a Dell Dimension XPS T500, and I don't really care about the viruses and stuff on limewire, as long as you pay attention, you shouldn't run into many viruses, I think that the reason that my computer runs slow when LW is open is because the CPU speed it really low.

EDIT: I think my computer was made around '95, lol.

nah, i think those computers were designed 4 either Win. 98/00, soo i would guess around '99 it was made? if you dont want 2 spend alot of money, and dont wanna buy a new computer, you can look on Ebay 4 a faster CPU, and more RAM.
 
I don't really trust Ebay with electronics, lol, every electronic I've gotten from Ebay (exept 2) were broken. I have at least $250 to spend(110 from selling my psp, 15 I have saved, ??? my rich gma and gpa's bday $ 4 me, ?? from selling my broken psp, 60 for returning these interview UMDs to wal-mart(they can't be downloaded to anything yet, so I might be able to)
 
I think I'd rater just upgrade, and I'm not playing any games on it now, exept for ones that have almost no system requirements(emulators and OOOOOOOOLD games)
