How do I free up RAM?

I am currently using 79% of my RAM. I have 512MB of RAM, and run Windows XP, and the only other program open is Google Chrome.

How much RAM does XP alone take up?
 
You do not need to keep creating new threads. For XP to run efficiently, you need to have 1.5 to 2gb of ram. Another thing that is hurting you is that you are running a celeron processor which is a very low end cpu. You need a new machine.
