how do i get rid of old programs that you cannot un install?

i put some games for my daughter on pc, like nancy drew mystery, and also a messenger service, and i cannot un install them from the control panel. any suggestions appreciated!!!thanks, paul

Delete the folder where the games are located.

(Let me preface this by saying it can be harmful to make changes in the registry unless you know what you are doing...)

From run type regedit.

Look for the games in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE and HKEY_CURRENT_USER and delete the folder with the name of the games...

(I think there is one more step... I cannot for the life of me remember it.... )

Be wicked careful with the registry archive, a while back I accidently deleted a file there I wasn't supposed to and ran into a lot of trouble.

ireally could not find them in there...i ran a search, and it doesnt come up...how does it know to put that name on the un install program? thanks

i also found the inst5all for the program, but that takes me back to a ghost? updater that updates to the new version?
