The first thing to do there is seen right in the screen shot you posted. That is click on the check mark to uncheck the toolbar and then remove Adobe entirely if you can't separate the toolbar from the rest. Once you have everything gone go for the latest version of Adobe Reader and make sure to leave the toolbar option unchecked.
One manual method for removal requires a registry edit as follows.
Close the Registry Editor (no need to save changes).
Now when you open Word, you will notice that the Adobe toolbar and menu have disappeared.
To create PDF files now, the user must click File, Print, and select Adobe PDF from the printers list.
Adobe had this at thier own site. Office 2000 or XP

Right click on the toolbar and select "Customize"

Right click on the actual RoboPDF menu on the menu bar in thebackground of the 'Customize Dialog Box'. Then select "Delete"
This also works for items within a menu as well but you must first click on the menu to see their dropdown menu options
Clicking on the item seen in the dropdown menu will still uncheck that option where you will no longer see it. That's still the first thing in either version of Windows. Once you have unloaded it you can then try removing the correct Adobe registry key manually with RegCleaner if you browse the registry itself and don't find the same values as seen in XP.
Once you have unloaded the toolbar by unchecking the Adobe PDF item seen on the menu you still have to choose the correct key there or endup having to reinstall Adobe reader all over again. For IE 7 the item is removed the same way you would if you were running IE 7 on XP.
