how do i make a bootable usb jump drive?

the xp cd is 492mb. i dont need all the extras, just enough to install xp (i386)
i386=460mb
root=1.25mb
boot=6.24mb

how do i make it happen?

I dont think you do. They will be able to do it with Vista, but not with XP. Put a CD drive in there just temporarily.

I don't think you can with XP, you can with linux however :)

Maybe try googling around a bit, who knows what you will find.

so i found a disk to do a network boot. i copied the win98 folder off of the win 98 cd form a shared cd drive over the network. booted up with the win 98 setup floppy and did a local install. i got 98 installed and then ran setup.exe form the cd drive in my tower and everything worked. i now have xp on my laptop.

about to convert it to ntfs after sp2 finishes
